Standard vessel for replating tropical orchids and in light growing |
terrestrial orchids in our laboratory, since years of proven effeciency |
and high quality. The square shape insures optimal use of space. |

Handling and performance of Hengducell flasks is easy and reliable. |
Before autoclaving hot medium is filled in, the lid is placed on the |
opening and very loosely screwed by about half a turn before placed |
in the autoclave. Do not close the lid tightly or the flask might deform |
during autoclaving. After autoclaving remove flasks and close lid |
tightly but without force because the silicon seal will otherwise |
hold the lid too tight after complete cooling down. Properly autoclaved |
and handled flasks will remain permanently contamination free even |
under greenhouse conditions, especially if the filter plug is protected |
from dust and water by placing some cling wrap over the lid. Under |
clean laboratory conditions Hengducell flasks are even easier main- |
tained and provide excellent growing conditions for plant tissue |
cultures and orchid micropropagation. The flasks are frequently |
reusable if treated properly. The filter plug should be replaced from |
time to time, but can also be substituted by none-absorbant |
cotton wool. Placing some aluminium foil over the lid during |
autoclaving increases the durability of the filter plug. |
