| Handling and performance of Hengducell flasks is easy and reliable. |
| Before autoclaving hot medium is filled in, the lid is placed on the |
| opening and very loosely screwed by about half a turn before placed |
| in the autoclave. Do not close the lid tightly or the flask might deform |
| during autoclaving. After autoclaving remove flasks and close lid |
| tightly but without force because the silicon seal will otherwise |
| hold the lid too tight after complete cooling down. Properly autoclaved |
| and handled flasks will remain permanently contamination free even |
| under greenhouse conditions, especially if the filter plug is protected |
| from dust and water by placing some cling wrap over the lid. Under |
| clean laboratory conditions Hengducell flasks are even easier main- |
| tained and provide excellent growing conditions for plant tissue |
| cultures and orchid micropropagation. The flasks are frequently |
| reusable if treated properly. The filter plug should be replaced from |
| time to time, but can also be substituted by none-absorbant |
| cotton wool. Placing some aluminium foil over the lid during |
| autoclaving increases the durability of the filter plug. |
