| Complete medium for sowing species and hybrids of Paphiopedilum. |
| Robert Ernst has developed this medium based on GD-Thomale for the |
| sowing of Paphiopedilum. The banana content is said by some to be |
| not supporting Paphiopedilum germination and would only be useful for |
| replating seedlings. Tests in our lab, however, confirmed, that at least for |
| some species (e.g. Paphiopedilum henryanum) a very good germination |
| could be achieved on this medium from ripe seed treated as a typical |
| standard with 0.5 % NaOCl. Note: The content of iron salt without |
| chelating agent is sufficient for germination purposes, but for replating |
| it is recommended to add chelating agent or additional chelated iron. |
