| GD-Thomale full-strength is a good medium for many easy germinating |
| Paphiopedilums. Modern modifications of GD-Thomale are the RE medium |
| (R. Ernst, 1992) and the BM medium (J.M. van Waes, 1984). This product |
| is the original medium as described by the late Hans Thomale, a German |
| orchidist and professional nursery man, and performs well with the easier to |
| germinate species and hybrids of Paphiopedilum. Note: The content of |
| iron salt without chelating agent is sufficient for germination purposes, |
| but for replating to add chelating agent or additional chelated iron is |
| recommended. |
